Wine Year

2012: It was characterized for being a dry year and at the same time fresh. The driest winter of the last 40 years, with the rains of September to compensate for the extreme water deficit, as a result the vegetative cycle from the painter delayed 2 weeks.


Winemaking

Grapes from old vines in the Upper Douro, after partial destemming and a slight crushing, the wort was transferred to fermentation vats in stainless steel with temperature controlled to 24 Degrees. Aged after 15
months in new French oak barrels.

It has an intense, opaque color.

In the nose the aroma is complex with highlight to the very mature red fruits, with notes of vanilla, and specialties.

The mouth is very firm, dense, voluminous, and with well-connected wood tannins. The Final is long, fresh and harmonious.
